Orange is such a vibrant lively colour, and it kept leaping out at me this week amidst the browns and greys of the year slowly drawing in to a close. It's got colder here the last few days, and the clocks have gone back bringing darker afternoons in return for light to wake up to for a few more weeks. One particularly stunning day offered vivid-leafed trees gleaming out against dark storm clouds like bright trumpets from rich music. With the glory of autumn colour we've also got bonfires, baking, apples, blackberries, coming in to a warm bright house on chilly evenings, and, of course, knitting!
The new design I'm working on is a very warm scarf in double-knitting reversible fabric, so Sparkleduck's beautiful merino DK Sunshine Juice seemed just the colour to brighten a winter day. The cream is West Yorkshire Spinners' lustrous drapey Bluefaced Leicester DK.
Wishing you too an abundance of colour, warmth and good food. Have any colours been jumping out at you recently?
